How to Be a Successful Blogger and Make Money
Making money through blogging and getting inspiration from bloggers and choose a niche is easy, but the biggest challenge that everyone’s face is how to be successful a blogger? Whether it’s a job or a business, what we all want is a success.
Something that keeps going on in your mind must be how those bloggers are playing in thousands of dollars? How their every article is getting a hit and why after so much of hard work you are facing so many difficulties in popularizing your blog and earning out of it. This article is all about these questions. As a blogger, I understand how demotivating it feels to get zero results after giving your hundred percent.
There are more than 100 million blogs. Out of which very less are active, but even those fewer counts to be a million or more. Being a successful blogger is not an easy task that too with tough competition. It needs immense dedication and unique content along with SEO.
The first thing that you need to have is a blog of your own. You can take help from my previous article on “How to start a blog of your own?” It’s a step to step guide describing how you can start blogging, what is a domain? How to choose a domain name? How to do hosting? Which blogging platform to choose?
Once you’ve created a blog of your own, it’s time to be a successful blogger.
Follow these 10 simple steps for learning, how to be a successful blogger:
1. Improvise your writing skills
Writing is the backbone of the blog. If you are not good at writing, blogging is not for you. But still, if you are very much interested in stepping up in this business, you need to improvise your writing skills. Write daily, until you yourself feel that you have become a good writer. Self-satisfaction is important because if you yourself will not like your work why others will? Do remember everything that you write counts in your experience. It doesn’t matter whether you write well, or extremely bad. Mistakes make you a better person and as you already know practice makes a man perfect.
2. Readers are leaders
Everyone has got the same mental level. Though very less uses it. Our ancestors have said, “the more you spend your mind the more it will grow.” Reading will make you creative and will improve your vocabulary too. Read a newspaper, magazine, articles daily. Search for synonyms of words you use daily while communicating. Before writing about any topic, search for it and read at least 5 articles of the same kind. Collect complete information than start writing. I suggest if you are reading this article don’t just particularly focus on my article read 10 more articles on “How to create a professional blog?”
3. Decide a niche of your interest
Most of the bloggers pick up a hotshot niche that could help them earn money and start working upon it. As a result, after 15-20 articles they start losing their interest and the quality of the content falls. You should pick up a niche you feel passionate about, blogging is not only about earning money, but you also won’t be able to write well until you write it wholeheartedly. Blogs are made in order to provide detailed information to people everywhere, so choosing a niche is essential. If you face any problem in choosing your niche and want to know about the top blogging niche, refer “Top blogging niches (how to decide a niche)”.
4. Walk on the road of consistency
Consistency is not only about being consistent with time. You need to be consistent with the content, your way of writing, font, size everything. Don’t experiment with your way of writing. keep following the way you’ve posted your first 4-5 articles. Post according to specific schedules, if you post once a week follow that if you post every day be consistent with that. Because your readers wait for your next article, so they should know a specific time that when will you post your next article. Those who wish to develop the schedule of posting a post daily might think where to bring so many article topics from. Without planning, nothing goes perfectly. So before starting your blog, make of list of at least 50 topics, you can take help of other blogs of the same niche.
5. Keep cherishing the will to learn something new
The will to learn something new should never die in a writer. Keep learning, there is not even a single person in this universe who has knowledge about each and everything. Don’t be lazy in trying something new. Change your boring lifestyle, make your living meaningful, not for others but for yourself. Always keep a small diary or notebook with you, write new words, new things, events you learn about. Use them in your articles if possible. Memorizing everything is not possible, so writing down everything is the best possible way. Be curious about everything that’s happening around you. Curiosity is the best teacher, nothing can teach you better than your curiosity.
Learn from other’s experience too, many bloggers post articles about their writing career, read them and learn from them. Even after your blog becomes famous, don’t stop reading.
6. Beginning and the ending of the article
Beginning and ending are the two most important parts of an article. They depict how good a writer you are. Without an interesting beginning, your reader will not read your article and leave the page immediately which will bring a decrease in the page ranking because Google keeps track of the time a visitor stays on your site. Always start with a quote, a question or a true fact.
Just like the beginning ending is equally important. Don’t forget to conclude in the ending. Write the ending in such a way that it leaves the reader waiting for your next article.
7. Be a good and patient communicator
Writing an article and posting it is not the only work of a blogger. Popularizing it, promoting it on social media is also a very important task. When you share your article on the social platform or post it on your blog, you get comments. Giving a response to those comments is very important, or else nobody will like to comment on your blog. For this, you need to have good communication skills, be humble with your audience. There are going to be people who will ask unnecessary questions from you, either out of curiosity or for passing their time. Don’t get irritated from this, because others might be reading your comments and it will give a wrong impression to them. Be a good listener, as well as a good speaker, is an identity of a good blogger.
8. Learn SEO or appoint someone who knows SEO
The most important part of blogging is its correct search engine optimization. With the help of SEO, you can keep track of the most searched keywords and use them in your article in order to increase your blog’s ranking. If possible, try learning it on your own, or else appoint someone who is good in his job. You can take help of freelancers also, they can do your work at affordable rates.
9. Know your audience
What your audience wants should be your first concern. Focus on the content your audience is willing to read. Even you also know why people read blogs. They read them in order to solve the problems they face. It’s your wish post whatever you feel like, but keep checking your comments regularly and respond on them. Check what your readers are asking you about and write blogs on them. It will satisfy your audience and you will get good feedback, which is important too.
10. Sell products on your blog
I think it was enough of a boring lecture, now let’s talk about what we all are here for, that is earning money. The best method of monetizing your blog is selling products. Many bloggers sell their own products on their blog. They convert their knowledge in the form of eBooks, video tutorials, plugins and sell them. It’s a better way of explaining something in a short period of time and earning money too. There are some lazy readers whose interest is more on video tutorials. Selling your own products is not the only way, you can apply Google AdSense and affiliate marketing too. These two are the best methods of earning through blogging for those who can’t sell their products.
